Activities of the Week
The Holy Trinity/Trinity Sunday - Week of May 18, 2008
Choose one of the following activities as a way to further reflect on the Sunday readings:
- Remind your family of God’s presence as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, by starting a family tradition of blessing family members before they go to bed at night by tracing the sign of the cross on their forehead and blessing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
- Invite your family or household members to talk about the characteristics of a household in which people would want to live. What would it be like? How would people behave? How would this household treat strangers, or the poor, or others in need? Remind everyone that such a household is very close to what the Trinity is: a community of love.
- Trinity Sunday is an excellent time to call attention to the use of the sign of the cross and the prayer that we say when we make the sign of the cross. Teach the very young this sign and prayer. Talk to your family about the need to say the prayer with meaning.
- Pray the ’Glory’ prayer. Use this prayer as part of your family night prayer.
Glory to the Father and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning,
is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Actividades para la casa
La Santísima Trinidad/domingo de la Trinidad - Semana del 18 de mayo de 2008
Elijan una de las siguientes actividades como una forma de reflexión sobre las lecturas del domingo:
- Recuérdenle a su familia la presencia de Dios como el Padre, el Hijo y el Espíritu Santo, iniciando una tradición familiar de bendecir a los miembros de la familia antes de acostarse en la noche trazando la señal de la cruz sobre su frente y bendiciéndolos en el nombre del Padre, del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo.
- Inviten a su familia o miembros de su casa a hablar sobre las características de una casa en la que las personas quieren vivir. ¿Cómo sería? ¿Cómo se comportarían las personas? ¿Cómo tratarían a los extraños, a los pobres o a otros necesitados? Recuérdeles que dicha casa está muy cercana a lo que es la Trinidad: una comunidad de amor.
- Domingo de Trinidad es un tiempo excelente para llamar la atención para el uso de la señal de la cruz y la oración que dice cuando debemos hacer la señal de la cruz. Enseñen a los más pequeños esta señal y la oración. Hablen con su familia sobre la necesidad de decir la oración con significado.
- Recen la oración de la "Gloria". Usen esta oración como parte de las oraciones nocturnas de su familia.
Gloria al Padre, al Hijo
y al Espíritu Santo. Como era en un principio,
ahora y siempre, por los siglos de los siglos. Amén.
