Activities of the Week
Thirteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time - June 27, 2010
Choose one of the following activities as a way to further reflect on the Sunday readings:
- Prayer helps us to hear God's whispering words of love, encouragement and Jesus' invitation to follow him. As a family, talk about those things that get in the way of taking time out for prayer each day.
- Ask each member of the family what they would like to be when they are older and why that particular field interests them. Talk about college or other training they will need to accomplish their goal and what they can start doing now as the first steps toward that goal. Talk about how prayer will pay a role in their choices.
- By virtue of our Baptism, we are called to be followers of Jesus. Have the family recall events from the past year that reminded each of you of your baptismal call to follow Jesus. As a family, evaluate how you did during that event and what you could have done differently to show your commitment to following Jesus.
- Jesus freely offered his life to show us his love for God and us. Have a family discussion about what you are willing to do this week to show Jesus you love him.

Décimo tercer domingo en tiempo ordinario - 27 de junio de 2010
Elijan una de las siguientes actividades como una forma de reflexión sobre las lecturas del domingo:
- La oración nos ayuda a oír las palabras que nos susurra Dios sobre amor, ánimo y la invitación de Jesús a seguirlo. En familia, hablen de esas cosas que los frenan a tomar tiempo para rezar todos los días.
- Pregunten a cada miembro de la familia lo que quisieran ser cuando sean mayores y por qué les gusta esa especialidad en particular. Hablen del estudio universitario o de cualquier otro tipo de entrenamiento que necesitarán para lograr su meta y lo que pueden empezar a hacer ahora como los primeros pasos hacia esa meta. Hablen de cómo la oración jugará un papel en sus decisiones.
- Por virtud de nuestro bautismo, somos llamados a ser seguidores de Jesús. Pidan a los familiares que recuerden eventos del año pasado que les hizo acordar de su llamado bautismal de seguir a Jesús. En familia, evalúen cómo actuaron durante ese evento y qué pudieron haber hecho diferente para mostrar su compromiso de seguir a Jesús.
- Jesús ofreció su vida libremente para mostrarnos su amor por Dios y por nosotros. Realicen una conversación en familia acerca de lo que ustedes están dispuestos a hacer esta semana para mostrar a Jesús que lo aman.
