- First Isaiah preaches about faithfulness to God and Salvation.
- In today’s passage Isaiah sings a story about an unfruitful vineyard.

Second Reading Background
- In the Letter to the Philippians, Paul gives advice for Christian living.
- Christians are to imitate Christ and to live according to what he has taught them.
- The harvest would come, not from their worry but from their prayer and trusting labor.
Gospel: Matthew 21: 33-43
They killed even the son.
Gospel Background
- The Gospel is another parable about a vineyard.
- In this story, the problem was not the vineyard itself, but those entrusted with its care.
- Jesus’ hearers knew on whom the judgment fell; the chief priests and the Pharisees.

Lectura Primera: Isaías 5: 1-7

- El primer Isaías predica acerca de la fidelidad a Dios y la salvación.
- En el pasaje de hoy Isaías señala una historia sobre una viña que no produce frutos.
Segunda lectura: Filipenses 4: 6-9
Dad a conocer vuestras peticiones delante de Dios.
Segunda lectura
- En la Carta a los Filipenses, Pablo les aconseja que vivan una vida cristiana.
- Los cristianos imitarán a Cristo y vivirán de acuerdo con lo que les ha enseñado.
- La cosecha vendrá, no de su preocupación sino de su oración y de su trabajo confiable.
Evangelio: Mateo 21: 33-43
